  • Before the meeting started, Father J reminded us about the meeting on the Catholic Church expansion in the Dining Hall on Sunday, Sept. 15th at 3pm...Important to be there and represent the Spirit Radio Committee.
     

  • The meeting started at 7:40pm w/ Prayer.
     

  • Attending: Father J/Chuck/Pat/Bert/Ben/Cindy/Mary/Jan/Michael/Francesca and Mildred
     

  • Agenda accepted

  • Minutes of June accepted

  • Financial: As of 8/8/02

    • $1,280 in donations

    • Expenses:

      • 75 - St. Pat Church (10% of Sock Hop)

      • 75 - St. Pat School (10% of Sock Ho)

      • 1,600 - St. Patrick Priest Coverage

      • 147.01 - Radio Tech/Engineer

      • 17.53 - Postage/Misc to Father J

    • Corrected Balance: $64,216.67 (keep in mind that $5,000 is promised out)
      So the balance is $59,216.67 as of 8/15/02

    • Good News: Queen of Peace gave a $1,000 donation

  • Committee Reports:

    • 88.1 Update: Bullshooter: Factory returned unit. Not tried yet.

    • City Parish Property: No report

    • DSL: Rectory is now on DSL thru the school. The school's computers are online. Ben recommended Live365.com to do the audio for the Masses.

    • FCC: No report

    • Cross City Property: Forrest Systems prefers to swap land. Bailey Bros. of Ocala owns adjoining property.

    • WKTK: No contact. Father feels KTK wouldn't be interested.

  • "More Good News": Alachua County approved St. Francis High School property.

  • New Business:

    • Father J will go to the NRB Convention in Ashesville, North Carolina Aug. 19-21st.

    • Father got a new laptop computer to use.

    • Father talked about Catholic Radio and TV available on the Internet. There are several stations and shows online and on the air. Father went over the list he got off the Internet.

    • Spirit Radio Committee Lunch: After Mass on Sunday the 18th at 12:30. For immediate committee family. Lasagna and salad/desert.

    • Newsletter: Need one. Mary to help.

    • Cheifland studio concerns: Father found out that they are building classrooms and perhaps can be a part of their project. A letter went out to Father Brennon, Chancellor of Diocese.

  • Other Business:

    • Big Band Bash at dining hall. Date picked: Oct. 26 from 7-10pm. Music of the 30s, 40s, and early 50s. Tix prices same as soc hop and will be available at the next meeting.
